Today, they’re still the top brand for pellet grills, making $300 million in sales per year on them.

Other brands to consider
There are other brands that you should consider because they too have earned a right in the grilling world to be recognized.
Broil King
Broil King makes high-quality grills. All the materials are made in Canada & the USA, so you know the material is high quality. They are owned by Onward Manufacturing Company, a company that has been around since 1906.
They have manufacturing sites in Waterloo, Ontario and 2 locations in the US, one being Tennessee and the other Indiana.

The Broil King Regal 500 has unrivaled cooking accuracy and is a revolutionary BBQ grill. This pellet grill has an overall area of 825 square inches perfect for cookery in all sizes, made of 14-gauge steel painted in Black. The cast iron grids are very long-lasting and hard-wearing. You can watch the grill and food from just about anywhere with the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth digital interface and two electronic meat samples. The mighty pellet is moved from the 22lb hopper to the firebox so you will never think about fueling. A removable drip tray means the cleaning is a breeze after you’re done using it. This grill also comes with an accessories kit making this a very worthwhile investment.
Weber
Weber was born around 1952 in Chicago, Illinois by George Stephen. Those dome-looking grills that are associated with Weber actually came from the idea of a buoy, where a real one had its string cut and legs were put on it.
Today you’ll see everything from a kettle grill to a full BBQ grill that resembles the shape of a buoy.
Weber Original Kettle Premium Charcoal Grill
This charcoal grill is actually one of the first Weber grills, being a kettle one and all. It’s 22 inches and it’s about 32 pounds, so it’s very portable. You get 363 square inches of cooking space, so it’s perfect for a small meal. You won’t be able to cook for a large party but if it’s just you and a couple of people, it’s perfect. You can move the grate if you need to, so that you can put more charcoal in it. One of the coolest features, being a charcoal grill, that it has a built-in thermometer so that you can monitor the temperature without opening the lid. The lid stands at 7.5 inches so you can have a beer can chicken in it if you really want. All in all, it’s a classic grill that’s durable and reliable.
Char-broil
Being around since 1948, they were literally the first charcoal grills on the market. Since then, they have much more modern grills. They have everything from turkey fryers to full-on gas grills. Char broil is also known as affordable, which is why they’re one the leading BBQ grills on the market. In 1984, they were named the world’s best BBQ grill, so that should say something about the quality of their grills. Since 2016, they’ve officially started to put a charcoal tray with their gas grills so that you can get that smoky, BBQ taste that you are looking for.
Char-Broil Propane Gas Grill
For starters, this is a beautiful stainless-steel grill by Char-Broil that will look amazing on your porch or backyard. What’s great about this grill that you can literally just push a button, and boom the grill is on. You get four stainless steel burners inside with each one producing 9000 BTU so you know that you’ll get a lot of heat and power on each burner. But that’s technically on the low side compared to competitors, as they usually are 10,000-12,000 BTU, so you’ll feel it’s a little weak if trying to get that sear on the steak. It helps that the grates are made from cast iron, so you’ll get that iconic grill mark that you want on your food. You get 425 square inches of cooking space and 150 square inch warming rack.
The Best Green Mountain Grill
Green Mountain Grills Davy Crockett WiFi Controlled Portable Wood Pellet Grill
This green mountain pellet grill is the one that everyone knows about. It is the Davy Crocket It features a digital Wi-Fi controller, a flesh sample, the top-of-the-line rib rack lid, a utensil-controlled handle and our latest open-flame flashes technology tray. The thermal sensor that controls the grilled temperature at all times, Sense-Mate is also included. The grill can be powered 12V or 120AC because it’s great for home or camping. The Davy Crocket weighs 57lbs and has fold-able legs to make it easy to put into any trunk of cars or back of the pickup truck.
It is the perfect tailgating grill that you can bring along with you. Of course, the only downside is that it does need to be connected to an electrical outlet. But it does have a WIFI mode that is super cool because you can connect it to the WIFI and check on the grill when the timer on the app goes off.
All in all, it’s a grill that you should consider if you’re looking for the bells and whistles and need it to be portable.
The Best Traeger Grill
Traeger Pro 575 Wi-Fi Controlled Wood Pellet Grill
Another fantastic Wi-Fi pellet grill that you should have in your home is this one. It has Wi-Fi and can also bind to Alexa by using voice for temperature/time monitoring, which, in our view, is a cool touch. This grill is fairly pricey ($990.85). The construction is made of powdered steel and is very durable because you know it won’t crack. It is built with a bronze lid and has all the field wheels so you can pull it anywhere you can pull it physically. You have 575 square inches to cook with so that’s plenty of room if you’re cooking for a crowd. There’s also an 18-pound hopper which is bigger than the last pellet grill we mentioned, so you can actually allow your food to cook for 20 hours or more unattended at 350 F. We should mention that the hopper can cook 1 pound per hour, and you’ll be environmentally friendly as you’re not using charcoal.
The coolest feature about this grill is the Wi-Fi capability. Luckily, this model has WIFIRE (as it’s one of Traeger’s newer models) which means you can connect to an app that can connect Google Home and Amazon Alexa, if you have those smart devices. Basically, this is the perfect grill for someone who has other things they need to do while grilling.
Bottom Line
We hope that you enjoyed reading the differences between Green Mountain grills and Traeger grills. They both got their own unique features and price points, but we promise they’re both great brands. Obviously, the Green Mountain grill is cheaper than the Traeger one, but it really depends on what your budget is. If you have enjoyed reading this guide, please leave us a comment!
