Breezy bamboo screens, textured walls and huge panorama windows help this beautiful weekend retreat really be in sync with the landscape and the natural surroundings. This little slice of paradise is situated in Pune, India. The house was completed in 2020 by studio SAK Designs and was meant to be a real scape from the city, a serene and tranquil retreat in harmony with nature.
At first sight, it becomes immediately clear that the building doesn’t try to replace or suppress the landscape but rather to complement it and to put an emphasis on its natural beauty. The beautiful flora and fauna of this place change with the reasons and really bring this area to life, both inside and out. As for the architecture, this is a wonderful example of how minimalism can make a powerful statement.
The house is surrounded by a series of beautiful outdoor areas like a deck with a built-in bbq area, a swimming pool situated on a lower level compared to the building, a cantilevered terrace and even an artificial lake. Inside the decor is super simple which allows the emphasis to be on the views and the lush greenery that makes its way inside in a seamless manner. The design is simple and pure and that’s what makes this such a wonderful and relaxing retreat.
